There have been several opinion polls on the loops lately about what is hot and what's not. Been watching publisher pages about what they DON'T want to see in their in boxes and I keep seeing Werewolves. IMHO there will always be a market for werewolves. What with the popularity of the Underworld series and the recent Wolfman remake looks to me like werewolves are still hot. If you watch the new releases pages of the top five e-publishers you'll see at least one werewolf story coming out each month.
So, are werewolves really on the wane? I certainly hope they aren't as I have a series of ten books in the works and the first one The Were Chronicles - Were Lost coming out November 27th. Tell me what you think. I would love to hear who your favorite werewolf is from which author or movie. My favorite is the werewolves from Underworld. What's yours?

Werewolves will always be HOT!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite shifter is Conal from Go Fetch! by Shelly Laurenston. I don't think shifters books are on the wane and i don't think they will for a long time. Here's my guess to your question I think it's red.

I don't care for werewolves or other scary things... See my blog and find out I'm a wimp. My shifter is a Native American Spirit that uses the wolf body to move around the mountain and other animal bodies when the need arises.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with GREEN but don't put me in the drawing as I'm one of the authors. I hope werewolves aren't on the out.
ReplyDeleteThe werewolves that got me hooked on the genre were those in the LKH, Anita Blake series.

No, I llooooooove Werewolves. I love the intensity and animalistic obsession. I love those big old sexy bods running around the woods, snarling, "Mine!" at the heroine.
ReplyDeleteI hope they are not on the way out. I think at times the werewolf or the vampire, they all slow down but in the next instant everyone is wanting them.
ReplyDeleteI like the Howling series also. The first one really was scarry to me!!
I will guess Blue??

My favorite wolves are from the Mercy Thompson series, by Patrica Briggs.
ReplyDeleteThe idea that a were-coyote female can be a VW mechanic just tickles me.
I've never really read shifter books until recently (I guess I can say the LKH books I read had shifters) BUT I read a few shifter books recently - all I can say is OH YUM! Shifters aren't going anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI like Varek from Skinwalkers.
ReplyDeleteI think werewolves here to stay. :)

I love the Underworld movie but my favorite werewolf from a book would be Jason from the Anita Blake series or Riley Jensen, I know she is half vamp but I still like her.

I love all paranormal books and I pray they never go out!!
ReplyDeleteI read so many that I can't pick just one! I love all my shifters!!
I'll have to guess the door is RED.
Considering that The Wolf Man came out in 1941, I think shifters are here to stay, no matter what they say in the polls. I also love the weres from Underworld. My favorite literary shifter is Michael Gallatin from The Wolf's Hour.
